DESCRIPTION:
The vessel was formed using stoneware clay, painted with layers of porcelain slip. The sunflowers were engraved into the clay and inlayed using a slip mix that creates a bronze glaze effect after firing.
These Wilted Sunflower pieces are a response to the lock-down experienced during Covid. They speak to the life/death/life cycles that are inherent to our experience of being alive.
